Dandy® Sweet Vidalia® Recipe Rescue

Oviedo, Fla. (June 6, 2011) - Today, Duda Farm Fresh Foods announces the launch of its newest consumer promotion featuring sweet Vidalia® onions. The promotion, which is primarily hosted on the Dandy Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Facebook page, will drive demand for Vidalia® onions by sharing recipes and ideas for daily use with consumers.

“Dandy® Vidalia® sweet onions are peak of season and we aim to educate consumers with regard to the product’s versatility,” said Nichole Towell, marketing development manager for Duda Farm Fresh Foods. “We know that Vidalia® onions are America’s favorite onion and we hope that this promotion simply helps consumers think outside of the box when it comes to using them.”
On a weekly basis, Duda Farm Fresh Foods will engage consumers by presenting them with various recipes featuring sweet Vidalia® onions for nearly every meal of the day. The promotion is titled Sweet Vidalia® Recipe Rescue.

“From breakfast to dinner, we’ve got our consumers covered,” said Mark Bassetti, senior vice president of Duda Farm Fresh Foods. “Vidalia® sweet onions are sold in bulk or two-, three- and five-pound bags, giving the consumer lots of options for usage throughout the week. Instead of simply slicing and serving, we’re going to equip consumers with simple and affordable recipe solutions that play into their summer weekly meal plan.”

In addition to featuring recipes on the company’s Facebook page, Duda Farm Fresh Foods will give away a Dandy® Vidalia® onion rescue gift basket each week to one lucky fan for the duration of the promotion. The gift basket will include a bag of Dandy® Vidalia® sweet onions and Vidalia® sauces and dressings. The current promotion is planned for June 1 – July 30, 2011.
