OVIEDO, Fla. (June 10, 2020) – As a continuation of their private-sector support of the USDA Team Nutrition Program,  Duda Farm Fresh Foods is proud to announce a partnership with The Produce Moms to offer virtual training to school foodservice professionals across the country during the “Power Up with Produce” session on Thursday, June 18 at United Fresh Live next week.

Through this partnership and other programs focused on fresh food education, Duda Farm Fresh Foods continues to make a long-lasting impact with schools across the country with the hopes of providing more than 31 million students the opportunity to choose fresh produce every day.

“We understand the importance of investing and offering opportunities to further the education of foodservice professionals within schools to create a lasting impact on future generations and our industry as a whole,” said Dan Duda, president and COO of Duda Farm Fresh Food. “In doing this, we are also encouraging students to make healthy choices now that will help set them up for lifelong patterns and shape generations to come.”

“Power Up with Produce” will feature the company’s culinary ambassador, Chef Todd Fisher, who will lead virtual hands-on culinary training sessions with Lori Taylor, CEO of The Produce Moms. The live training will focus on strategies from basic culinary and knife skills to an overview of fresh herbs, USDA recipes for school meals, usage of celery in the lunchroom, and ways to support ongoing campaigns to support schools. Furthermore, information gathered from the session will be used to determine how USDA grant efforts can and should be used continuously throughout the nation.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering back up with Duda Farm Fresh Foods for such a great cause,” said Lori Taylor. “It’s an honor to be trusted by the schools and students to teach these fundamental skills and building blocks needed for a healthy lifestyle.”

In addition, Jill Overton of Franklin Community School Corporation and past participant of the live culinary training with Chef Todd Fisher and The Produce Moms, will be sharing her personal success story on how their expertise helped elevate her school foodservice offerings and earned her district national recognition at the School Nutrition Association convention.

All participants will receive one hour of Culinary Skills Training and Smarter Lunchrooms Strategies continuing education credit, authorized by USDA officials at the Department of Education and the School Nutrition Association.

“Power Up with Produce” will take place online next Thursday, June 18th at 1:00pm EST.
