Dan Duda
Dan Duda’s love of the produce industry runs as deep as his family legacy. A fourth generation member of the Duda family, Dan inherited his great grandfather Andrew Duda’s passion for the produce industry as well as his vision of providing consumers with high quality farm fresh products at affordable prices.
Having grown up surrounded by an agricultural community and family, Dan learned to appreciate the produce industry at a young age and enthusiastically followed his family’s tradition of studying agriculture at the University of Florida. After receiving his Bachelor of Science in Food and Resource Economics, Dan began working as a salesman for A. Duda and Sons in 1980. He took on roles of increasing responsibility in sales and marketing before eventually transitioning into management.
Dan has been at the helm of Duda Farm Fresh Foods as its President and Chief Operating Officer for over the past four years. He draws on his 30 years of industry experience to direct, plan, and manage all activities related to farming, harvesting, and sales for Duda Fresh. Like his father, grandfather, and great grandfather before him, Dan has the privilege of working with a talented team of driven and dedicated professionals who share his love of growing, packing, selling, and marketing healthy fresh fruits and vegetables as well as his appreciation of working for a privately held, family-owned company that sets some of the highest standards for ethics and integrity within the industry.
In addition to leading Duda Fresh, Dan has also had the opportunity to lead and shape the produce industry as a whole. He has served on the Florida Citrus Packers Marketing Committee, in the United Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Association Grower/Shipper Division, and on the Produce Marketing Association Retail Board.
In his limited spare time, he enjoys fishing, golfing, gardening, relaxing with his family, and engaging in friendly SEC football debates. Get to know more about Dan and the company and industry he loves through his Dandy Digest posts.
