Dandy® Super Sweet Corn Tori Kon (Japanese Street Corn)

What You Need

  • 4 ears Dandy® Super Sweet Corn
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • ½ tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon yellow miso paste
  • 1 tablespoon togarashi seasoning, store bought
  • 2 tablespoons furikake seasoning, store bought
  • 4 tablespoons tempura crispies
  • 4 wooden sticks with a point

Tempura Crispies:

  • 1 ½ tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 1 ½ tablespoons cornstarch
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons sparkling water

Make It

1. To prepare, steam or boil Dandy® Super Sweet Corn for 4-6 minutes.

2. While corn is cooking, combine the mayonnaise, honey and miso paste and mix well to combine
until smooth.

3. Once corn has cooked, remove from heat and drain on a paper towel. Push the wooden stick into the end of the corn, creating a handle.

4. Using a pastry brush, brush each ear of corn with your mayonnaise mixture and sprinkle each of
the seasonings over the corn while spinning the corn between your fingers.

5. Set corn on serving vessel, sprinkle with tempura crispies and serve.

Tempura Crispies

1. Combine all ingredients and let sit for 3 minutes.

2. Once oil is hot, pour tempura batter in a steady stream into the oil and allow to cook till golden brown and crispy.

3. Drain on a paper towel and break up any large pieces as necessary.
